So, you want to attend one of our LAN parties? Well, you are certainly invited! Before you attend, you must know a few things.
What is a LAN party?
A LAN Party consists of several people playing computer games via LAN cables. That's basically it.
Where are they held?
As of now, they are being held at MJS's back patio. It's a very roomy and comfortable atmosphere (physically and psycologically). For more information on how to get to MJS's house, just post a message in the chat forum.
Who is invited?
You are.
What time do they start?
It depends. Sometimes they start in the afternoon, and sometimes not till the late evening. Times are announced a day or more before the LAN party.
What do I need to bring?
You will need:
Computer: We have one or two extra computers that are almost always in use
Mouse and Keyboard: same as above.
LAN cable: We are running short of these and have no extra ones at all.
Headphones: These are recommended unless you don't care about sound.
Monitor: yeah, you need one of these. For more information on purchasing old monitors for five to ten dollars, ask in the chat forum.
Power cords: Just your basic power cords to turn on your monitor and computer...
How powerful should my computer be?
Well, personally, I recommend at least a 1.5GHz or better, a Radeon 9200 graphics card or better, 256mb of RAM or more, a CD drive, and a 10/100 network port. It is possible to play with less powerful configurations, but we're not making any promises.
Do I need to bring a hub?
Not unless asked to do so. We have a 12-port hub.
This picture accurately displays what you need for a fun LAN party experience.
Any other questions? post!
